First introduced to the military 25 years ago to meet the demanding requirements of the high reliability soldering required by military specifications, the Therm-O-Trac is still a leader today in commercial soldering applications. All models of the Therm-O-Trac family (Therm-O-Trac, Select-O-Trac, Power-Boost and Magnum) are field-tested and exceed all military specifications. TOT stations are designed to provide the most stable temperature control during the work cycle and less than ±10 F? variance at idle temperature. Temperature is controlled by a thermistor positioned at the working end of the tip. It continually senses temperature and immediately corrects for temperature variations by adjusting the power through a closed loop electronic feedback circuit. The TOT uses solid state, electronic switching circuitry that does not produce a magnetic field. Sound grounding techniques insure that leakage potentials are maintained below 2 millivolts. The TOT does not produce spurious detrimental energy and therefore it is safe for soldering sensitive circuitry. The TOT family uses J style tips exclusively. The J style tips have been treated on the inside surface with a special coating to minimize scaling at high soldering temperatures. A wide range of tip shapes is available for TOT stations. Stations include a coiled spring iron holder. All models are available in 115 and 230 volt, 50 – 60Hz.
