These irons provide an extra large tip-working surface for mechanical soldering at the fastest speeds. The outer case is machined from a solid piece of high strength carbon steel hexagonal in shape and is designed to provide superior protection to the precision wound heating element. This iron is furnished with a copper tip for occasional or intermittent use. For continuous steady production soldering, a long-life iron-plated tip should be used. The smaller diameter irons are used for soldering light to medium tinware, cable harnesses and ground connections. The larger sized irons are used for sheet metalwork, hermetically sealing of transformers, metal caskets, radiators and heavy motor armatures. Available in diameters from 1/2 to 1-3/4, with wattages ranging from 90 to 800 watts. Irons provided with a HD-S12 cradle holder.
